Summer Learning Days 2025

After working as a social worker and homeschooling my two boys for sixteen years, I transitioned to working for the Newport School District's 21st CCLC Afterschool Program back in 2014.  Starting as a Site Coordinator, I worked with our middle and high school students for 18 months before stepping into the Program Director Role.  I love working with youth, particularly when the proverbial light bulb goes on or when they find something about which they are passionate.  I also enjoy working with adults and thanks to OSPI, I am a certified Youth Work Methods, Youth Work Management, and SEL Methods trainer.I have been married to my wonderful husband, Curtis, for 34 years.  We have two adult children who are making their mark on the world.  My hobbies include reading (10 books read on my recent two-week summer vacation) and crocheting.  And I am proud to say that I have not killed the beautiful geraniums left to me by the previous owner of our house.
